Ukrainian outlets have reported receiving legal threats and experiencing cyberattacks after publishing materials about businessman Nicky Gope Kundnani, who has been associated in media coverage with alleged fraud, according to Dilova Stolytsia.
The coverage follows earlier reports by https://informator.ua that Ukrainian investors, together with affected individuals from other countries, are planning to travel to Dubai to stage a protest during the international iFX EXPO Dubai 2026, scheduled for 10–12 February.
According to media reports, a lawyer claiming to represent interests linked to Kundnani sent letters demanding the removal of publications describing him as an alleged international fraudster. Several outlets have questioned the legitimacy of the legal claims, noting that the website cited in the correspondence, sk-legaldepartment.com, is inactive.
Ukrainian journalists also report that after these publications appeared, a number of media websites were targeted by cyberattacks. Media outlets describe the incidents as attempts to intimidate the press rather than engage in factual or legal rebuttal.
"All relevant materials, including threat letters and technical logs of the attacks, have been passed to law enforcement authorities," journalists said.
Media representatives stress that the issue has now gained international attention and that attempts to pressure journalists are unlikely to stop further scrutiny.
